My child is obsessed with chiropractic care
I’m really not making this up. You wouldn’t think a three-year old would need, care, or even take notice of the field of chiropractic care, but my daughter disproves this notion. Now, to be fair, she has a history, as she has been dragged to the chiro’s office practically since conception (well maybe a couple days after that). Since Mommy has a gimpy neck thanks to a couple car wrecks, and Daddy has titanium rods in his back, we see our dear chiropractor on a semi-regular basis.
This obcession started out simply enough, with K just loving to go because of all the cool toys. Giant exercise ball? score! Little rubber grippy ball exercises? score! water cooler? score! stickers? score! But more and more, as she tries on big-people activities, she patiently waits for her turn to “get her back fixed”. Yes, she lies face down on the adjustment table and will not be satisfied until the doc has “adjusted” her entire back. She even tried to scam the poor lady for a second adjustment today. She even stands there and “helps” adjust CM and FF. I’m pretty sure we could have pimped her out there all day as an assistant with no complaints.
I wonder to myself, should this worry me? But then I just think of the nice income she’ll make as a chiropractor in the future (after her successful career as a chef–more on that later). Since she’ll be supporting us in our old age, I suppose it’s good that she’s starting on her careers early.
