Imagination…or Possession?
And now kids, for another rousing round of Imagination…or Possession?
- Weird shoe patterns
- Waiting until people are out of the room and then arranging all the file cabinet magnets in a row
- Introducing me to her invisible friend (Sennas? just guessing at the spelling based on her pronunciation of a name I’ve never heard before) and insisting I give him/her/it a hug
- Utter obsession with one of those little tiny white beads you find in bean bag toys. She calls it a bean and carries it around lovingly talking to it.
- Love affair / giving identity to personal body products, IE fingernails (she pronounces it “inny-ails”), hair clippings. She gives them voices and carries on conversations with them.
Results:
- Leaning towards possession here, because this is really sudden, and really weird.
- Clearly a parental mind game. Calling this one out as imagination.
- Hello? Possession!
- Imagination here. I think.
- 50/50 split here. If the inny-ails and hair start saying REDRUM, I’ll be more decisive.
