I’ve long been worrying that I’m going to be screwed, when she is a little older and potentially some day reading all of this. The thought of her doing her own blog…a little soul-chilling. I should probably begin building up a future therapy fund (for both of us) now.

Although, I have–in an abstract way–wondered how she may consider this material when she has some adult maturity and perspective, and most especially, if she ever decides to have children herself.

Maybe I should just burn it all. Oh wait, the Internet Never Forgets. Nevermind… off to start that therapy fund….

Hey thanks for the feedback–glad you enjoyed! It always motivates me to write more Hopefully that was the first and last time I ever lock the kid and the keys in the car at the same time! (at least until she is a teenager and decides to strike out on her own of course….I’m going to need some prozac for that, I’m sure!)

Wow, that’s heavy stuff for a 4 year old…. but what a sweet compassionate girl your raising! And while it probably feels like some of her innocence has been lost, it’s a great testament to you and FF as to how well you’re meeting her needs. She hasn’t had to deal with any of the harsh realities of life because she’s been so well cared for, and in turn, can hold the emotional space to care for others in need. I see kids daily who don’t have their needs met, and have very little compacity for compassion… growing pains are definitely tougher on the parents than the kids, I agree!

Parenthood is full of never ending paradoxical occurances….all of them set to trip us up, mess with our minds and keep us in a constant state of doubt, second guessing and self-recriminations!
